30 cops undergo computer
skills enhancement training
The police offices of Bacolod and Silay cities have tied up with a new information technology school to train 30 personnel in a computer skills enhancement program.
The 25 officers from Bacolod City Police Office and five from Silay City police will undergo the free four-week Computer Skills Enhancement Training at the Asian Business Institute of E-Technology in Bacolod, that started Sunday, ABI-eTech president, Roda Natividad-Regalado, said.
Regalado said the initiative is part of their community outreach program as their school starts its Technical Education and Skills Development Authority-accredited courses aimed at catering to economically-challenged students who want to study vocational tracks.
The program, which will run until April 27, will cover basic Microsoft Office applications and Internet usage, and other topics designed to enhance the officers’ data encoding and storage capabilities, Regalado said.
BCPO director, Senior Supt. Ronilo Quebrar, said he hopes that all cops of the city will improve their skills in the computer and in making reports and communications.
Silay police chief, Supt. Roderick Alba, meanwhile, said the initiative will improve their computer usage skills and their basic data encoding knowledge.*PP
