Noise barrage tomorrow
vs. rising oil, rice prices

The United Negros Drivers and Operators Center-Pinagkakaisang Samahan ng mga Tsuper at Operators Nationwide yesterday called on drivers of private and public vehicles to honk their horns while passing though Araneta and Luzurriaga streets in Bacolod City at 3 p.m. tomorrow   in support of protests against government’s failure to regulate the rising prices of rice and oil.

This will be part of a noise barrage dubbed  “Gahod sang Gutom (Noise of Hunger)” along Araneta and Luzurriaga streets in front of the Fountain of Justice at the Bacolod City Hall  Wednesday  being organized by the Kilusang Mayo Uno, UNDOC-PISTON and Kalipunan ng Damayang Mahihirap, Rommel “Bebot” Santillan, UNDOC-PISTON chairman, said yesterday.

He said they are calling not only on drivers and operators of all public and private utility vehicles but also all consumers to join the noise barrage.

UNDOC-PISTON is also urging employers to sympathize with the noise barrage by allowing their workers to make noise outside their establishments for 20 minutes starting 3 p.m. Wednesday, Santillan said.*
