More businessmen in Bacolod city are asking the city government for a reduction in their revenue code rates, Metro Bacolod Chamber of Commerce and Industry president Frank Carbon said yesterday.
Carbon said they have sought the help of Bacolod Vice Mayor Greg Gasataya and the members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod regarding the matter.
When the new revenue code took effect in 2012 during the time of then Mayor and now Bacolod lone District Representative Evelio Leonardia, he said, only the revenue code rates of the manufacturing, retailers, contractors, financial and banking institutions and hospitals were reduced.
NFA further increases outlets
The National Food Authority has increased its outlets from 16 to 25 last week in the different barangays in Bacolod City and will open more this week, Bacolod Councilor Carlos Jose Lopez, chairman of the Sangguniang Panlungsod Committee on Markets and Slaughterhouse, said yesterday.
Lopez said he is in close coordination with the manager of NFA in opening more outlets in the city.
The more outlets are at the Brgy. 35 public market, the Mansilingan Public Market, in Brgy. Banago, Brgy. Bata, Brgy. Mandalagan, another in Brgy. Handumanan and Alangilan, and another at the Central Market.
