Inter-Company cagefest

Bacolod Steel Center squeaked past Northwest Inn, 76-73, while Johann Kendrick Tan pulled away in the fourth quarter to beat Eversure Marketing, 76-59, in the Fil-Sino Inter-Company Friendship Cup basketball tournament at Bacolod Tay Tung High School Po Hang Gym, Monday night.

Both Bacolod Steel and JKT are tied at 2-0 in the team standing while Northwest and Eversure dropped to 0-2
The tussle between Bacolod Steel and Northwest Inn went down the wire as both teams had several lead changes in the payoff quarter.

Celhelm Uy broke the 71-all deadlock to put Northwest on top at 73-71, but Jeremy Coo answered with a triple to put Steel ahead by a point.

BCHS ’74, NOHS ’90 rule
Triangular bowlfest

Bacolod City High School Class ’74 ruled the premiere division, as Negros Occidental High School Batch ’90 and NOHS Batch’95 led  the contest in Bracket B and Bracket C of the Annual Triangular Bowlfest For Unity 2014 at the Super Lanes of the Goldenfield Commercial Complex in Bacolod City.

NOHS bets Michael Corral of Batch’90 and Ronela Cordero of Batch’89 won the master bowler title  of  the top 10 players in their  categories.
The BCHS’74 bowlers  led  by Norman Pineda claimed the title with a victory over schoolmates from Batch ’79 in the finals, 539-528.

BCHS ’79 earned the right to challenge the champion team by defeating NOHS ‘85 in the semifinals.
BCNHS’80-89  was  third runner up while  Domingo Lacson National High School ’75 was  the fourth runner-up.
In Bracket B, it was the NOHS B’90  team that  won the championship by  beating  NOHS’97 in the finals.
