Stallions nipped Gilas, 113-111, in game three of their-best-of-three final series to bag the title in the 9th Bacolod City Government Employees’ Basketball Association, a press release from organizers said.
The champion team was led by Raymundo Sapa Jr. of the General Services Office, who scored 28 points, including four triples, while Benedick Ledesma backed him up with 21 points and teammates Zane Rey Ledesma of the City Veterinary Office and Martin Pinaga of the Department of Public Services with 16 and 14 points, respectively.
Rogelio Flores of the Bacolod Traffic Authority Office led Gilas’ offense with 25 points and 6 rebounds, the press release said.
In the battle for third place, the Erectors beat the Spartans, 100-93, with BTAO’s Henry Parlan topscoring for the Erectors with 29 points and Arnold Ea of the City Engineer’s Office delivering 23 markers. Councilor Wilson “Jun” Gamboa, Jr. finished with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
Jude Guisihan of the Sangguniang Panlungsod led the Spartans with 27 points while Bejamin Yap of the City Health Office and CEO’s Rex Delina had an identidcal 21 points.
The BACGEBA was created in September 2009 for the promotion of physical fitness and camaraderie among regular, co-terminus and elected officials of the city through a year-round basketball tournament, the press release added.*
