Marayo Bank Inc. contracted GreenEnergy Solutions Inc. to install a 15-kilowatt (kW) net-metered solar photovoltaic (PV) system in its head office in Pontevedra, Negros Occidental, a press release from the bank said.
The bank, founded in 1969, is now chaired by Franklin Fuentebella.
Vicente Javellana Jr., its president and general manager, wants to basically lower the bank's high electricity bills and save money, the press release said.

The Negros Island coffee sector is hoping to make the region a producer of third wave coffee brands, Rachel Nufable, Department of Trade and Industry-Neg. Occ. Division Chief, said.
The interim organization, Negros Island Coffee Association, is planning to rebrand the region as a source of coffee brands with geographic indications such as Mount Kanlaon.

Capitol rehiring job orders
The majority of the 213 job order casuals in the 11 Negros Occidental provincial government-run hospitals have been rehired, Provincial Budget Officer Jose Percival Salado Jr. said yesterday.
The Capitol has began paying the salaries of the 213 job order casuals for services rendered from January to May, and the majority of them have been rehired for work from July to December, he said.
The Negros Occidental Sangguniang Panlalawigan had earlier approved the allocation of P23.41 million for the salaries of the job order casuals for this year.
