CEBU CITY - Philippine Airlines officials
yesterday announced the launching of PAL's direct flights from Cebu to
Singapore, and its daily Cebu-Caticlan- Clark flights starting December
The announcement was made by Ryan Uy -
vice president for sales, and Harry Inoferio, senior assistant vice
president, at a presscon at Radisson Blu hotel here.
The round trip Cebu-Singapore-Cebu trip
promo will cost $130 until end of December for travel until end of
March,plus $68 travel tax. A one-way Cebu-Caticlan trip will be P488
and Caticlan-Clark P988, Inoferio said.
Coffee producers attend branding seminar
Members of the Negros Occidental Coffee
Association, and some entrepreneurs in the province attended a seminar
on Branding and Introduction to Trademarks conducted by the Department
of Trade and Industry at the Provincial Negosyo Center in Bacolod City,
Engiemar Tupas, DTI senior trade and
industry development specialist, said the activity was held due to
inquiries to the department from entrepreneurs, especially coffee
producers and processors.
He said the search for product quality and
marketability propelled the need for an excellent brand for
competition, both locally and abroad.
Bacoleņo develops plastic bricks
As one of the 20 finalists and the only
Philippine representative in the recent Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) and
Youth Entrepreneurship competition held in Jakarta, Indonesia, where he
presented his PasaluBox entry, Alan Francis Ang now wants to prove to
the world the ingenuity and prowess of the younger generations of

Plasbric,or simply plastic bricks, his brainchild with Alexis
SarahBelle Dy, a fresh graduate in Chemistry, and EleazarSabbaluca, an
IT classmate at Colegio de San Agustin in Iloilo. Sabbaluca was Ang’s
team mate in theirPasalubox entry in Indonesia.
The group set up a prototype which is made
of cement, soft and polyurethane plastics as the main ingredients for
another competition, both local and international.
