PNP: No ASG in NegOr

The Philippine National Police in Negros Oriental yesterday debunked reports that members of the terror group, Abu Sayyaf, have reached the shores of Dauin, a town located south of Dumaguete City, that is brimming with tourists.

This developed as the 79th Infantry Battalion of the Philippine Army based in the province has released the names and description of Abu Sayyaf members in Inabanga, Bohol, who are still “on the run” so that the public will be alerted.

Acting provincial police director, Senior Supt. Henry Biñas, said there are enough troops to secure the resorts in Dauin and nearby areas, especially the world-renowned dive destination Apo Island.

He said in a telephone interview yesterday that they will monitor the arrival and departures of the ASEAN delegates, “accredited or unaccredited”, from Bohol.

The ASEAN 2017 meetings at a resort in Panglao, Bohol, reeled off today until Saturday, April 22. .
