Huminova beats JSY Transport, 71-64
to sweep first round in Fil-Sino caging

Huminova Tigers swept the first round with a victory over JSY Transport, 71-64, while Silver Dragon Transport dominated AACI Transport, 85-69, Monday night in Class A of the 2017 Fil-Sino All Asian Countertrade Inc. Inter-Color Basketball Tournament at Tay Tung High School Po Hang Gym.

RB Chua deliverd 12 points and Bambam Guevarra added six markers to jumpstart the Huminova Tigers' offense in the first quarter for a 22-17 advantage. Julius Teruel dropped eight points for JSY Transport.

Alvin Dionela and Buddy Eufre combined for 17 points to extend the lead at the break, 45-25, while Mark Binguan, who shot six points was the only bright spot for JSY in the second quarter.

JSY Transport outscored the Tigers in the second half behind Arvin Gustilo and Teruel's heroics, but time was not on their side as they failed to stop the undefeated Tigers for clinching their fourth straight win.

Dionela topscored with 15 points while Chua added 14 and Eufre finished with 11 points.

Teruel led JSY Transport with 17 points, Gustilo made 12 and Yan Yan Dy produced 10 points.

In the nightcap, Silver Dragon dominated all quarters to keep AACI Tranport winless in the tournament and improved to 2-2 win-loss slate.

Silver Dragon took a 41-33 lead at the half as Danty Ma Brian Coo, Bren Tajonera and Allen Dionela scored while Shinley Uy delivered 10 points with Jason Yap and DK Equipaje adding 6 points apiece.

Silver Dragon continued to pull away in the second half as Jeremy Coo made 12 points and Andy Tio hit 9. AACI Transport got a 12-point contribution from Mar Macainan, and 10 points from DK Equipaje.

Ma paced Silver Dragon with 17 points, Jeremy Coo tallied 16, Tio finished with 12 credits to his name and Tajonera with 10 points.

Uy led AACI Transport with 19 points, Equipaje hit 16, and Macainan and Jason Yap with 10 points each.*
