Rain or Shine keeps Welcoat
winles as Glasurit ends Polygloss unbeaten run

Rain or Shine took their time Thursday night then stepped on the gas pedal in the fourth quarter, running away with a 113-103 victory over Welcoat at the ABC- Asian Coatings Philippines Cup in Talisay City.

Still searching for their first victory in the tournament, Welcoat look composed in the first three quarters leading by eight points heading into the last 12 minutes of the game.

Arjay Jamero teamed up with Christian Maravilla to overhaul the eight-point deficit using their youthful legs to outrun the weary Welcoat side.

Welcoat just could not find the answers to the Rain or Shine fourth- quarter run, succumbing to turnovers and poor shot selection.

Andy Tio nailed two 3-pointers late in the final quarter to seal the game for Rain or Shine.

Tio topscored for ROS (4-2) with 24 points and was closely followed by Maravilla's 23 and Jamero's 19 points.

Mark Carmona had 14 as Brian Coo and Karl Torres finished with 12 and 10 points, respectively.

Jobert Juliet paced Welcoat (0-5) with 20 points, Nikol Medina chipped in 19, Willy Dasal had 16 and Ramon Khey contributed 12 markers.

Glasurit halted Polygloss' five-game winning streak with a 102-91 victory in the second game.

Polygloss (5-1) remained on top of the standings despite the loss while Galsurit (4-2) just assured itself of semi-final slot.*
