‘Bautista hampering poll work'
BY CHRYSEE SAMILLANO

Commission on Election Commissioner Rowena Guanzon yesterday said they are worried that there will be some delays in their preparation for the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabatan elections since the Comelec can not function normally.

So Guanzon said she advised Comelec chairman Andres Bautista to take a leave of absence,or resign amid investigation into his alleged unexplained wealth.

It will be easier for him to take a leave of absence if he has not decided to resign yet, because there is a lot of work pending which he cannot work on due to the impeachment complaint being processed in the House of Representatives, and the investigations on his alleged ill-gotten wealth, she saidmoremoremore

‘NO EO can disunite
Negros provinces'
BY JUANCHO GALLARDE

No executive order can disunite the provinces of Negros Oriental and Occidental, Secretary Leonor Briones of the Department of Education said at yesterday's awarding ceremony of the best implementers of Brigada Eskwela of the DepEd Negros Island Region, in Dumaguete City.

She stressed the two provinces have started to unite one year and eight months ago and they cannot be disunited anymore with an EO.

President Rodrigo Duterte issued EO 38 dated August 7, abolishing the NIR created under EO 183, signed by then President Benigno Aquino III on May 29, 2015.
