‘NO EO can disunite
Negros provinces'
BY JUANCHO GALLARDE

No executive order can disunite the provinces of Negros Oriental and Occidental, Secretary Leonor Briones of the Department of Education said at yesterday's awarding ceremony of the best implementers of Brigada Eskwela of the DepEd Negros Island Region, in Dumaguete City.

She stressed the two provinces have started to unite one year and eight months ago and they cannot be disunited anymore with an EO.

President Rodrigo Duterte issued EO 38 dated August 7, abolishing the NIR created under EO 183, signed by then President Benigno Aquino III on May 29, 2015.

The Zamboanguita police identified the fatality as Julius Babor, 39, of the place.

Police investigation showed that the victim and his wife, Mariedel, went to their farm and agreed to have lunch after work. But the victim did not show up in the place where they had agreed to meet.

28 th PHL Travel Mart

The Negros Oriental provincial government will send a delegation of tourism officers to attend the 28th Philippine Travel Mart, at the SMX Convention Center Mall of Asia Complex in Pasay City, Friday to Sunday.

Governor Roel Degamo believes in the potential of the tourism industry as possible providers of livelihood and income opportunities for the people, a major part of his efforts to boost economic development in this part of the country.

He said “that's why we invite the private sector, especially the travel and tour operators in our province.”
