The Bacolod City Mayor's Office-Price Monitoring Unit will intensify the monitoring of prices of basic and prime commodities, especially this Christmas season, executive assistant Ernesto Pineda said yesterday.
Pineda said they have assigned one member each in the three major markets in Bacolod City to conduct daily monitoring of prices. But this time, the monitoring will be done together with the Market Coordinating and Monitoring Task Force, particularly on goods used for the holiday season, he said.
They conduct regular inspection of weighing scales and also on-the-spot inspections, especially when there are complaints, he added.
Neg. Occ. SP okays increase
in Hinoba-an industrial area
The Negros Occidental SangguniangPanlalawigan yesterday approved anordinance of Hinoba-an town, increasing its industrial area in BarangayBacuyangan, by reclassifying agricultural property.
Municipal Ordinance 2017-03 increases the industrial area located in Barangay Bacuyangan, Hinoba-an, from 348,864 square meters to 2,828,546 square meters.
The reclassified property will be used for the town's industrial estate,Board Member Alain Gatuslao said.
oath-taking set Monday
The Integrated Chemists of the Philippines-Bacolod Chapter, in partnership with the Philippine Regulation Commission VI, will host an oath-taking ceremony for new chemists and chemical technicians on Dec. 11, from 8-11 a.m. at the Nature's Village Resort in Talisay City, Negros Occidental.
Registration will start at 7:15 a.m.
