Baciwa needs P2B to address problem

The Bacolod City Water District is sourcing out a fund of P2billion to address problems, it managers said.

At a meeting Wednesday with business leaders of Bacolod City at the L’Fisher Hotel,  Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry Incorporated regional director for NIR and Western Visayas Frank Carbon, said Baciwa general manager Mario Macatangay talked about fixing the problems that besiege the management but they are sourcing funds to correct it.

Carbon saidMacatangay did not specify what plans they have to correct problems of water wastage which estimates claim, cost the management 35 to 40 percentin  water leaks. 

Napocor appoints new VP

MANILA-- The National Power Corp. has appointed lawyer and engineer Rogelio Teves as the new vice president of the Power Engineering Services.

The PES implements power projects, including construction, quality and cost control, and provides specialty services, such as engineering surveys, hydrological studies, geological services, materials investigation and testing, social engineering and right-of-way acquisitions.

Teves has served as head of the Design and Development Department, which supervises the preparation of feasibility studies for power generation and transmission line projects, conceptual and detailed engineering design.
He also led in providing technical assistance in the pre-procurement and bid evaluation stage and review of contractor's documents and drawings.

Bamboo propagation training held

About 35 stakeholders  and micro entrepreneurs  in Isabela town, attended that two-day  bamboo propagation and management training at the Liga Hall, DILG bldg, in the town, February 14-15.

Marjorie Cajeven from the  University of the Philippines-Visayas, the main speaker,discused the potentials of bamboo and the alternative livelihood it can offer to the locals.

Cajeven said that bamboo, known as the tree of life has multiple use not just for toothpicks, matches or fences.
With the use of modern technogy bamboo can be used for furnitures and interior design.
