Ramos new LTO 6 chief
BY JUANCHO GALLARDE

Dumagueteño Roland Ramos will be installed as the director of the Land Transportation Office 6 on January 12 in Iloilo City, in place of Dennis Singson, who was reassigned to LTO central office Traffic Adjudication Service.

The installation ceremony will be led by Assistant Secretary Edgar Galvante, and attended by the Internal Audit team from the LTO central office, employees and staff in the region.

Ramos, at one time, had been endorsed by Negros Occidental Gov. Alfredo Marañon Jr. and the Sangguniang Panlungsod of Dumaguete to be the interim LTO chief of the newly-created Negros Island Region 18.

He was first assigned in 1999 at the Bayawan City LTO mobile unit, which he fought to become an extension office in 2002, and transferred to Bais City district office and then in Dumaguete. That same year, Ramos became a regional model employee of LTO-7 first level.

Before his appointment as director II of the LTO on December 6 by President Rodrigo Duterte, Ramos was deputy chief for Operations, Law Enforcement and Traffic Adjudication Section chief and hearing officer in LTO-7.

He has vowed to implement what he considers a very tall order to remove and/or suppress corruption in the LTO, and continue the mandates for good governance.

He enjoined employees of LTO Region 6 to rally behind the new leadership in making the agency a corrupt-free office.*JG
