More business owners flocked to the Business One-Stop Shop yesterday at the Bacolod City Government Center, eitherto renew their permits or register their business, a press release from City Hall said.
The Permits and License Division is currently holding a Business One-Stop Shop for renewal and new registration of business permits at the Bacolod City Government Center from January 3 to 20, Mondays to Fridays, from 8a.m. to 5p.m., with no noon break, it said.
The process has been streamlined from five steps into three steps to ensure a faster service, the press release said.
Megaworld to open

MANILA-- Property developer Megaworld Corp. is set to open four new hotels under its portfolio within the year, riding on the tourism boom of the country.
“We see tourism as a potential driver of growth for Megaworld as we draw more people to our developments. Within the next three to five years, we hope to see a bigger slice of hotel earnings in our revenue pie as we open our new hotels,” Kevin Tan, Megaworld senior vice president, said in a statement.
The company is set to open the Marriott Courtyard Hotel in Iloilo Business Park and the Savoy Hotel Boracay in Boracay Newcoast by first half of this year; and Savoy Newport Hotel in Newport City and Hotel Lucky Chinatown in Binondo, Manila, by the second half of the year.
NFA assures sufficient rice
supply in next three months
Current rice inventory for the province of Negros Occidental stood at a high of 2.2 million that will last for three months, National Food Authority provincial manager Marianito Bejemino said.
Bejemino said the high volume of inventory reflects the ample supply due to increased production last year and the previous years. Negros Occidental posted the lowest importation for the last 17 years last year with only a boat load of imported rice.
He said the inventory figure is comprised of 981,227 from the commercial which composed of retailers, wholesalers and millers and 880,532 and 356,267 from household and government stocks respectively.
