The police recovered P350,000 worth of suspected shabu during a buy-bust operation, that was followed by a raid Friday in La Carlota City, Negros Occidental, that led to the arrest of a businessman and a surrenderer of the OplanTokhang campaign of the police last year.
John Paul Pillado, alias Coicoi, 23, and Anson Chiang, alias Andoy,were apprehended by the police led by Supt. Cresenciano Cordero Jr. at La Paz Street in La Carlota City.
The arrest of Pillado, a drug surrenderer, yielded a sachet of suspected shabu, P500 in marked money and assorted shabu paraphernalia.
The police then raided the house of Chiang, a businessman, by virtue of a search warrant issued by Judge Cyclamen Jison Fernandez.
Cordero, who is the La Carlota City police officer-in-charge, said the raid yielded an estimated 35 grams of suspected shabu, with a street market value of P350,000, 13 more plastic sachets containing shabu and its assorted paraphernalia.
Chang had previously surrendered to the OplanTokhang campaign of the police in La Carlota City, police records also show.* GPB
