Delito, Jardinico lead
Regina Cassiel Delito and Evenizer Jardinico III of the College of Education will lead the Batch 2017 graduates of the University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos in its commencement exercises today, its press release said.
The two will graduate magna cum laude, and Jardinico is set to deliver the valedictory address.
Graduating cum laude are Arvi Ablanque, Mary Jane Ballesteros, Valerie Anne Buenconsejo, Riza Mae Camacho, Emarie Carbajosa, Kevin Jon Ciano, Kara Grace Demavivas, Lourd John Diaz, Aaron Dueñas, Nice Exaltado, Gilbert Magbanua, Francis Joan Mendoza, Michelle Marie Panzo, Jessica Yvon Suyo, Isaiah Taguibao, and Jessa Torrendon, the press release said.
The 2017 leadership award will be given to Lourd John Diaz for his exemplary service to the student body. The UNO-R Loyalty awardees are Rock Alejandro, Alan Jan Balibalos, Katherine Marisse De Juan, Regina Delito, Peah Angelica Diamante, Christopher Bernard Dormido, East Tristan Encabo, Val Anthony Garay, Bethel Gavile, Paul Michael Genovate, Ma. Sheena May Gumban, Hannah Mae Meguiso, Diane Angelica Mendiola, Anna Maria Teody Mendoza, Fred Jay Parreño, Camille Joice Villalobos, Amanda Rose Villanueva, Ma. Mellicent Malinao, and Blaire Demonteverde.
Graduation theme is “Building Basic Ecclesial Communities in the OAR Year of Holiness”. The baccalaureate mass, imposition of the hood and awarding of non-academic awards will be held 8 a.m. at the university gym while the graduation march to the university amphitheater will start at 5 p.m., the press release added.*

Hajji, Rey hold concert tonight
Hajji Alejandro and Rey Valera will hold a concert, titled “The OPM Hit Makers” at SMX Convention Center at SM City Bacolod 8:30 tonight.
Alejandro is a singer and an actor, known for The Greatest Hits Live (2003), Panakip Butas (1977) and Sugat sa Dangal (1985).
He has also popularized hits like “Tag-ulan Tag-araw”, and “Kay Ganda ng Ating Musika” composed by Ryan Cayabyab, that won him the grand prize at the First Metro Manila Popular Music Festival in 1978.
Valera is a well-known singer, song writer, music director, film scorer and television host.
He popularized original Pilipino music like “Kung Kailangan Mo Ako”, “Maging Sino Ka Man”, and many more.*
