Crowd support until till the end

The football-loving Negrense crowd showed their passionate support to the Ceres-Negros FC in their home game against the FC Istiklol of Tajikistan last night.

Aware of the 4-0 advantage of the visitors, the crowd cheered the Busmen on and went wild as Manuel Herrera scored the first goal in 34 th minute. Silence fell all over the stadium as Dmitry Barkov tied the score at 1-all in added time before the break.

The campaign of the 5-year-old Ceres Negros FC in the 2017 AFC Cup may have come to an end, but never the support of their fans at home, who where there in every match.

With close to 5,000 crowd last night at the Pana-ad Stadium, Ceres basked in the cheers and chants of the crowd. It was a difficult match but the pressure was eased by the animated crowd who showed their loyalty.

“I am very grateful for everyone in the club who work for the team, the people who come to support us. They are very important to us,” Ceres head coachRistoVidakovic said during the post-match press conference.

“Nobody expected what we have achieved in a short period. We did something important for Philippine football. I think everyone from Negros has to be very proud of this team,” Vidakovic said.

“Most important, we are a family in the team, everyone in the club is working for each other. There's a lot of respect, love, dedication and professionalism and without these, we were not able to reach what we did,” he said.

Vidakovic also asked the continued support of the Negrenses on their Philippines Football League matches, especially on their home match versus Cebu's FC Global on Sept. 24. * MLG
