DLNHS routs ARMM, 9-0, in opener

The Domingo Lacson National High School softball team opened yesterday its Palarong Pambansa title-retention bid with a 9-0 rout of Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao at Cabugao Central School, almost an hour away from Vigan City in Ilocos Sur.

Representing Western Visayas, DLNHS, last year’s back-to-back champion donning the Negros Island Region colors, is gunning for its 22nd Palaro title in 25 years, making it the winningest Negrense squad in the annual games.

Tournament officials declared the game stopped after five of the seven innings of regulation period on the Mercy Rule due to excessive lead, coach Roselle Hulleza said.
