The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas Dumaguete Branch recently awarded more than 20 partners and stakeholders in the provinces of Negros Oriental and Siquijor, in recognition of their invaluable support and contribution to its advocacy programs, a government press release said.
Now on its 5th year, BSP honored organizations, institutions and individuals who have provided exemplary support to its statistical undertakings, information needs, and advocacy programs, during its Stakeholders’ Recognition Ceremony held at the BSP Hall in Dumaguete City.
Joseph Norbert David, newly installed deputy director of BSP, and his predecessor, Nicasio Parco, presented the awards.
Awardees for outstanding partners in implementing the BSP advocacy programs were the Negros Chronicle, Fil-Products Service Cable Televisions, City Government of Dumaguete City, Lee Super Plaza, Philippine Information Agency, and the Department of Education Division of Siquijor that provided support to the promotion of clean note policy, NGC public security features, the role of BSP in the economy, NDS demonetization program and the coin re-circulation program, respectively, the press release said.
Media personalities cited as partners were Judy Partlow for newspaper, Maritoni Salvoro for television, Juancho Gallarde for radio, and Syril Repe for social media.
Philippine National Bank and Rusi & Luzon Ram Cycle Inc. were cited for being outstanding respondents for customer satisfaction and business expectation surveys that provided prompt reply to the studies.
Metrobank was also awarded for the least number of discrepancies in cash deposits, RCBC for consistently segregated fit and unfit notes in bank’s cash deposits, PNB for having strictly complied with BSP policy on the sourcing of unverified fit deposit for bank withdrawals, and DBP, LBP, AUB, Union Bank and UCPB for zero fit-note deposit.
Negros Oriental Bankers’ Club president Elmer Teves of East West Bank received the Leadership Award for being actively engaged in club projects that have impacted on the entire banking community, and Negros Oriental State University for outstanding Knowledge Resource Network.
BSP also cited the Negros Oriental Provincial Police Office, Dumaguete City Police Station, Fire Station, Health Office, Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, Negros Oriental Phivolcs-DOST, Provincial and City Divisions of DepEd, Agri-Support Corporation, Uymatiao Construction Inc., Dynamic Development Corporation, St. Paul University, Carmelite College, Rusco, and the provincial government of Siquijor, for providing support to the promotion of various advocacy programs and mandate of BSP, the press release added.*
