Tampisaw Spring Festival
Tampisaw Spring Festival is a group exhibition featuring the Tampisaw watercolor painters.
Having found inspiration in the success of their first exhibition named "Diri sa Amon" in November 2017, the group now embarks on another watercolor show as part of the SM Art Rules Changing Exhibit in celebration of the National Arts Month. The group is even more dedicated to cultivate the growing interest in watercolor as a medium to express and to create art.
The artists express that “while the skies and streets throughout the world explode with the dazzling colors of firecrackers, giant lanterns, zodiac floats, and festivities in celebration of the Chinese New Year, the group translates these festive imagery, influences, beliefs, and inspiration in a symphony of strokes, washes, and water blooms.”
The group met at the Tampisaw Watercolor Workshops conducted by Negrense artist Edbon Sevilleno in the early part of 2017. Since then, these members have become each other's support group in discovering and honing their love for the medium watercolor through art get-togethers they fondly call art-tambays.
The Tampisaw watercolor painters are also members of the Art Association of Bacolod-Negros, International Watercolor Society Philippines, and the Philippine Guild of Watercolorists.
The Tampisaw Spring Festival opens today and will run until February 18 at the 2 nd level, North Wing of SM City Bacolod.*
