SRA turns over
farm-to-mill road project

Sugar Regulatory Administration Board Member for Planters, Emilio Bernardino Yulo, and OIC assistant administrator Mary Antoinette Tampo, led the ribbon cutting during the turnover ceremony of the completed farm-to-mill-road project in Brgy. Himaya, Hinigaran, Negros Occidental, recently, its press release said.

The contract amount of the concreting project was P12.780 million for a one-kilometer stretch, which was funded by SRA under administrator Hermenegildo Serafica, and taken from the 2016 Government Appropriations Act, as mandated by the Sugarcane Industry Development Act of 2015. The proponent is the Mill District Development Council.

Yulo said, “We have to protect small planters through SIDA” whose main proponents were senators Cynthia Villar and JV Ejercito, and Rep. Albee Benitez (Neg. Occ., 3 rd District).

On hand to accept the finished concreted road were Hinigaran Mayor Jose Nadie Arceo, Vice Mayor Teresita Gabrido, Brgy. Himaya Captain Enrique Lauriano Jr. and the barangay council, and Kalahi staff, the press release said.

Arceo and Lauriano expressed their gratitude to Yulo for SRA's concern for Brgy. Himaya.

SRA was represented by its engineer, supervising regulation officer, and mill district officers, the press release added.*
