Ceres-Negros starts AFC Cup bid vs.
Boeung Ket FC at Panaad today

The quest for the AFC Cup title starts today for Ceres-Negros FC as they take on Cambodia's Boeung Ket FC in Group F of the qualifiers at the Panaad Park and Stadium in Bacolod City.

Head coach Risto Vidakovic said the match tonight is very important and it will not be easy as they expect the visiting team from Cambodia to get out there and give them a good fight.

“Everyone in the AFC Cup will compete a hundred percent against you. I'm sure that Boeung Ket is here because they want also the same. They want to win the game, they will fight, and they will give everything on the field. If we don't give a hundred percent, it will not be easy. We have to be prepared for that,” Vidakovic said in the press conference yesterday.

Canlubang eyes redemption
in PAL Interclub seniors

Nine-time champion Canlubang is looking for redemption when it renews its storied rivalry with Luisita in the 32nd Philippine Airlines (PAL) Senior Interclub golf team championships next month in Bacolod.

Denied a third straight championship by Luisita in Davao last year, the Sugar Barons are extra motivated to return the favor.

“We are going to do this for Mike,” said veteran Rolly Viray, referring to Spanish champion Mike Preysler who passed away last December.

Lyceum, San Beda sweep
PCCL Elite 8 assignments

Lyceum secured the other top seed in the PCCL Final 4 after nosing Ateneo, 69-65, in the final game of the Elite 8 round at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig on Sunday night.

Similarly, San Beda University completed a 3-0 sweep of its quarterfinal assignments with a 79-35 romp over De La Salle University.

The Lyceum Pirates will face the San Sebastian Golden Stags in the semi-finals while San Beda Red Lions will clash against the Ateneo Blue Eagles in the other pairing.
