Man hacked over slippers
BY RENE GENOVE

A 30-year-old man was hacked several times in his body for wearing the rubber slippers of the suspect in Sitio Candalaga, Barangay Banga, Bayawan City in Negtos Oriental Sunday.

The victim was identified as Bicoy Dantes, married, a resident of Sitio Candalaga, and the suspect as Ariel Bayawa also, 30, of the same place.

Initial police investigation showed that at about 5:30 pm. Sunday, the suspect and the victim were having a drinking spree. A heated argument ensued when Dantes wore the slippers of Bayawa, who left and came back, with a marble gun and a bolo.

Bayawa aimed the gun at Ariel and Niño Dantes but he was confronted by Bicoy who tried to disarm him. Bayawa drew his bolo and hacked Bicoy several times, police report said.

Bicoy was brought to the Bayawan District Hospital, while Bayawa was arrested by responding member of the Bayawan City Police Station.

Meanwhile, a man was stabbed at early dawn yesterday by an unidentified person in Barangay Panala-an, Bais City.

The victim was identified as Dionio Andalahaw, 26, of the barangay.*
