A judge turns 80
Ten years after his retirement, Regional Trial Court Judge Ramon “Monching” Delariarte celebrated his 80 th birthday on December 15, with a banquet at Planta Hotel in Bacolod City, and the celebration was jam-packed with guests, relatives, and friends from USA, Canada, Metro Manila, Mindanao, Iloilo, Aklan, and other parts of the country.
In attendance were fellow judges, led by Negros Occidental Regional Trial Court Judges Association president Kathrine Go, officers and members of the Our Lady of Candles Parish, Rotary Club Bacolod East, Integrated Bar of the Philippines, the Sunshine Boys, Brotherhood of Christian Businessmen and Professionals, the Opus Dei, the Los Dumangenos, and other organizations.
It was an enchanted evening of fellowship, camaraderie, music, dancing, fun, and frolics.
Msgr. Felix Pasquin started the event with an opening prayer and blessing of food, while Judge Francisco “Bebong” Rodriguez delivered the “Inspirational Talk and Toast of the Evening”.
Paying tributes to the celebrator were his siblings, children, grandchildren, Papal Awardee Sir Knight Nestor Gabalda, IBP representative Joy Barbasa-Alba, and Rotary past president Rafael “Paeng” Golez.
Adding color to the occasion was a fantastic dance number performed by the beauteous Rotary Anns.
The celebrator gave special thanks to well-wishers who, instead of giving gifts, made donations to the Maintenance Fund of the Our Lady of Candles Parish Grotto, a pet project he has supported.
The program, emceed by Rod Simon and Tess Aplaon, lasted until the wee hours of the morning.
It was, indeed, an affair to remember!*
