La Castellana man faces
parricide raps
BY GILBERT BAYORAN

A husband, who allegedly stabbed his wife dead, in front of their 13-year-old child, in La Castellana, Negros Occidental is facing parricide charges.

The suspect identified as Juanito Legaspi, 51, is now detained at the La Castellana police jail.

Legaspi was arrested by the police at the house of his relative Wednesday in Brgy. Crossing Magallon, Moises Padilla, more than 13 hours after he allegedly stabbed his wife, Jenny, dead, at almost midnight of Tuesday in Sitio Odiong, Brgy, Camandag, La Castellana.

Chief Inspector Irma Teoxon, La Castellana police officer-in-charge, said that the presence of Legaspi at the house of his aunt, Elsie Sion, was disclosed to the police by Kagawad Eduard Sion, also a relative of the suspect.

The eyewitness to the stabbing, the child of the victim and the suspect, was traumatized by the incident, Teoxon said.

Parricide charges were filed yesterday by the police against Legaspi before the La Carlota City Prosecutor's Office * GPB
