Mayon St. residents
seek help vs. floods
BY CARLA GOMEZ

Residents of Mayon Street in Barangay Villamonte, Bacolod City, are complaining of constant flooding in their area every time it rains and are appealing to the city government for help.

The Mayon Street residents yesterday morning woke up to floodwaters already inside their houses.

They said the flood, especially at the dead end of Mayon Street has been occurring since a canal was closed off by a private owner at Madiaas Street where the canal water used to pass through.

“This is a sanitation and health hazard with the canal water never flowing out,” J. Dignadice, a resident of Mayon Street said.*CPG
