The Committee on Urban Planning Development and General Services of the Bacolod Sangguniang Panlungsod will conduct a public hearing today on the proposed Comprehensive Land Use Plan of the city, at the Bacolod Government Center.
Councilor Caesar Distrito, chairperson of the Committee, will preside over the hearing together with invited resource speakers and stakeholders in the proposed measure.
Distrito said the committee will conduct two public hearings. Invited to attend the first hearing are departments of the City Planning and Development Office, City Legal Office, Environment and Natural Resources Office, City Assessor, and City Engineer’s Office, as well as representatives from various business and civic organizations, such as the Metro Bacolod Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Federation of Filipino Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry, CREBA, and SHDA.
Invited to the second hearing on July 12 are all barangay captains, subdivision developers, homeowners associations, and all landowners, he said.
Distrito said the members of the Public Hearing and Consultation Board for the Comprehensive Land Use Plan, organized by Mayor Evelio Leonardia to initiate the planning and formulation of the city’s land use plan for the years 2017-2026, will also attend the hearing.
“We have set two hearings so that all stakeholders of the proposed land use plan will be given the opportunity to see the city’s future development and growth areas and the chance to give suggestions particularly for their respective places,” he said.
“As we are aiming for the Most Business Friendly City and Model City, we aim to pass this measure as soon as possible,” Distrito added.*CGS
