UNO-R gets new president
The University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos will hold the investiture rites of Rev. Fr. Don Besana at the university gymnasium 8:30 a.m. Thursday.
Besana will be the 17th president of the university.
A Eucharistic celebration led by Rev. Fr. Dionisio Selma will be held before the investiture.
The program includes the presentation of certificate to the outgoing UNO-R president, a message from Rev. Fr. Eduardo Celiz, the reading of the letter of appointment, and the profession and signing of the document of faith by the incoming president.
This will be followed by the donning of the academic gown, investing of the presidential medallion, and presentations of the university mace, mission-vision, and the roles and functions.*Joevel Bartolome

3 BCPO stations awarded

Three police stations in Bacolod City were awarded for topping the anti-criminality campaigns for June 2018, at a ceremony held at the Bacolod City Police Office yesterday.
Senior Supt. Francisco Ebreo, BCPO acting city director, awarded Police Station 6, led by its chief, Senior Insp. Wilfredo Benoman Jr.
Station 6 personnel were the top 1 in the apprehension of wanted persons and in the implementation of Republic Act 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulations Act.
Senior Insp. Leo Estopa, commander of Station 2, was awarded in behalf of his men for ranking first in the campaign against illegal drugs.
Members of Station 8, headed by their commander, Chief Insp. Ruel Culanag, were awarded for topping the arrest of illegal gambling violators.
Also present during the ceremony were BCPO deputy city director for administration, Supt. Victorino Romanillos Jr., deputy city director of operations, Supt. Leonardo Borromeo, and members of the different force multipliers.
The awarding was in line with the celebration of the 23rd Police Community Relations Month.*SGG
