An engine 40 Rosenbauer fire truck arrived in Dumaguete City, and was turned over yesterday to the Bureau of Fire Protection by Maj. Maneses Bautista, with provincial fire marshal, Supt. Mary Joy Candelario as witness.
Bautista said the fire truck is the most modern and is considered as one of the finest and top of the line fire trucks that can respond to fire incidents in high-rise buildings and discharge water up to 2,400 liters per minute.
The water tank capacity is 4,400 liters that it is also capable of discharging water simultaneously through six different nozzles. It is designed to respond to mountainous and inclined areas with its 240 horsepower engine.
The acquisition of the fire truck is in line with the modernization program of the BFP. It will augment the existing assets of BFP-Dumaguete and will strengthen its fire suppression capability.
Chief operations officer, Senior Fire Officer 1 Donald Villaluz, said the BFP aims to make Dumaguete a fire-conscious city.*JG
