DOLE eyeing more

The Department of Labor and Employment is eyeing more livelihood grants to various communities in the Western Visayas, as it allocated about P60 million for this program this year.
Regional director Johnson Cañete said giving livelihood programs is one of the ways to generate jobs, especially to registered associations that have no financial capacity.
DOLE turned over P2 million in livelihood checks to a group from Brgy. Buenavista in Murcia for bamboo craft livelihood, and to a group of citizens, PWDs, and farmers from Brgy. San Isidro in E.B. Magalona town during its Trabaho, Negosyo, Kabuhayan Job Fair in Bacolod City yesterday.
