Best Provincial AM Station

DYHB - Tatak RMN dedicates its latest national award to “every Bacolodnon and Negrense for their unwavering faith, confidence and patronage.”

This was underscore by Dr. Jeony Bigay, station manager, after the Bacolod radio establishment was named Best Provincial AM Station in the country during the 26th Golden Dove Awards of the Kapisanan ng Mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas.

The Golden Dove Awards is an annual recognition for excellence in the radio and television industry.

The awards program was held at Marriott Hotel in Resorts World in Pasay City on May 29.

DYHB bested two other finalists – DZGB of Legaspi City and DYFM Bombo Radyo Iloilo – for the trophy.

The award makes us proud Radyoman of Bacolod City and we wholeheartedly dedicate this to our listeners and patrons, said Dr. Bigay, who received the Golden Dove trophy with Enrico Guido Canoy, RMN vice president for operations.

The Best Provincial Station trophy is the second Golden Dove award received by DYHB in three years. In 2016, the station received the award for the Best Public Affairs Program for its “Straight to the Point” program hosted by Dr. Bigay and Serge Santillan. This is a testament that DYHB Tatak RMN is dominant not only in ratings but also in winning awards, said the station manager, who also reiterated that DYHB has been “the undisputed consistent No. 1 AM station in the province in all official surveys for almost a decade now.”

Meanwhile, DYHB, in recognition of its public service thrust, was cited by the Sipalay City government for its assistance to the families of a fatal lightning incident at Sitio Barasbarasan, Barangay Manlucahoc on April 18.

The lighting struck six persons dead with at least 18 others hospitalized for injuries. The victims, mostly indigents, belong to nine families.

The station raised P51,715 through the generosity of its listeners and supporters.

The City Sanggunian cited the station through Resolution No. 2018-051 passed on April 24, which expressed “appreciation to DYHB Kasama Mo 747 Bacolod RMN for facilitating the fundraising thru Agnes Apostol, Kasama sa Masa in-charge, and Serge Santillan, program director…”

It commended the station for its “high sense of commitment and competence in the field of philanthropy and a desire to help the community…”

Reiterating the station’s philosophy, Dr. Bigay, on the Golden Dove Award, said:

Our uncompromising adherence to our policy statement that states “RMN recognizes no interest higher than the national interest, and no obligation other than public service” simply made our station a consistent standout.*
