The Police Regional Office 6 will implement soon the Squad System in all police units in Region 6, that aims to address problems of misconduct and misbehavior among police personnel.
Supt. Gilbert Gorero, PRO 6 regional public information officer, yesterday said that the Squad System, the implementation of which was already approved by Chief Supt. Cesar Hawthorne Binag, also aims at strengthening leadership and potentials of policemen and enhancing their ethical, moral, and spiritual values.
Gorero said the strategic objective of system is to ensure the highest level of performance and discipline under service-oriented, God-centered and family-based PRO6 personnel.
On March 13, policemen in Region 6 attended the orientation seminar at Camp Martin Delgado in Iloilo City, that focused on the squad leader’s capability enhancement, such as personal and professional competence, instilling accountability, teamwork and esprit de corps, enforcing discipline in the smallest unit, and bridging the gap between police officers and non-commissioned officers.
The participants were also subjected to surprise drug testing.
Gorero said the squad system will be composed of a minimum of 10 personnel, with the most senior PNCO (Police Non Commissioned Officer) will be designated as the squad leaders and assistant squad leaders.
Both were responsible for nurturing, developing and monitoring their squad members as responsible and accountable police force of PRO 6, he added.
For its successful implementation, Gorero also said that a Life coach from a pastor ministry will be designated to conduct a lecture every week.*GPB
