An executive of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas said yesterday that the proposed bridges that will connect Central and Western Visayas will improve the labor market and production-market chain in the provinces of the region, including Negros Island.
Zeno Ronald Abenoja, senior director of the BSP Department of Economic Research, said in an interview yesterday that these bridges will connect the Visayas provinces, and improve the labor market, and the production of goods, from processing to manufacturing.
TESDA language training intensified
MANILA - To help overseas Filipino workers find better job opportunities, the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority will strengthen its Language Skills Institutes across the country, and will also offer additional language courses.
“(Tesda) director general Guiling Mamondiong told us that we need to prioritize (the LSIs) to help prevent OFWs from being maltreated," Tesda information officer Nina Dodd told the Philippine News Agency yesterday.
Dodd added that the LSIs were developed for work purposes, as they also teach the OFWs various cultures. Currently, there are 37 LSIs across the country.
