Back-to-back wins for JSY Countertrade
in Fil-Sino Class A basketball tournament

 

JSY Countertrade scored back-to-back wins over Huminova Tigers, 87-73, and AACI Transport, 86-74, in Class A of the Fil-Sino All Asian Countertrade Inc. Inter Company Basketball Tournament at the Bacolod Tay Tung High School Covered Court during the weekend.

Huminova Tigers bounced back with a victory against JSY Transport, 85-72.

JSY Countertrade overcome a 50-39 deficit against Huminova Tigers and relied on Brian Coo and Miguel Mosquera in the second half combined output of 32 points to deliver the victory.

Mosquera had a game-high 25 points while Coo added 19 and Rey Pandoro with 12 points.

Jeremy Coo finished with 21 points for the losing team as teammate NicoLopingco produced 19 points.

In their next assignment, JSY Countertrade erected a 50-31 advantage against AACI Transport in the first half led by Mosquera and teammates Glin Ortaliz, Coo and Pandoro.

Transport rallied in the second half with Michael Ang knocking down four triples and Robbie Jalandoon shot 9 baskets to cut the deficit to 67-60 going to the fourth quarter.

But JSY Countertrade recovered in time to restore the double digit lead Mosquera and Coo combined for 15 points to seal the victory.

Mosquera paced JSY Countertrade with 20 points while Coo added 17.Jalandoonled AACI Transport with 19 points and Ang finished with 17.

Meanwhile, Huminova Tigers bounced back with a victory over JSY Transport.

The two teams were even at the break at 37-all but Jeff Maningo and Sibug combined for 31 inside points for the Tigers in the second half to claim victory.

Sibug led the Huminova Tigers with 21 points while Maningo tallied 16 and Luigino Lacson and Luigi Coo shot 13 points apiece.

Brix Arrobang finished with 24 points, Carlo Chu nailed 20, and Rinen Miag-ao shot 12 points for JSY Transport.

In Class B action, Silver Dragon Transport defeated Organic Solutions, 80-59, after a commanding 47-20 lead in the first half led by Edway Uy, who shot 13 points.

Adrian Ong and Brian Ong combined for 11 points in the second half to cut the large deficit at 59-38, but it was the last ditch stand by Organic Solutions as Silver Dragon Transport recovered in the fourth quarter and equaled the output of Organic Solutions to complete the rout.

Uy finished with 24 points, Quingco added 18, and Joel Masadia drilled 16 points for Silver Dragon.

Dayven Dreyfus finished with 15 points and Clint Chua shot 11 for Organic Solutions.*
