Dengue kills 10 in Negros Occ.

There are now 10 dengue deaths in Negros Occidentaland the number of patients hit by the deadly virus is 1,023, or a 31 percent increase from last year, a Provincial Health Office report covering January 1 to May 5 showed yesterday.

The deaths were in Cadiz City ‒ 4, La Carlota City ‒ 2, Valladolid ‒ 1, Sipalay City ‒ 1, E.B. Magalona ‒ 1, and Bago City ‒ 1.

The number of dengue deaths in the same period last year was 8.

The dengue cases were in La Carlota City ‒ 112, Cadiz City ‒ 106, Bago City ‒ 99, Sagay City ‒ 76, Victorias City ‒ 69, Kabankalan City ‒ 55, Silay City ‒ 54, E. B. Magalona ‒ 41, San Carlos City ‒ 41;

Escalante City ‒ 38, Hinigaran ‒ 35, Himamaylan City ‒ 34, Manapla ‒ 31, Sipalay City ‒ 28, Talisay City ‒ 26, Ilog ‒ 21, Murcia ‒ 20, Cauayan ‒ 17, La Castellana ‒ 16, Calatrava ‒ 15;
