Philippines and Ceres-Negros midfielder Kevin Ingreso looks forward to next week’s AFF Suzuki Cup opener between the Azkals and Singapore at the Panaad Stadium in Bacolod.
“We are all excited to play the Suzuki Cup,” said the Ceres star . “I think we have a very strong squad so we can go further than we did two years ago.”
The Azkals failed to advance in the semi-finals two years ago after landing at No. 3 in a a group that featured the finalists -- Thailand and Indonesia.
Ingreso is coming in fresh to the tournament after recovering from a minor operation in late August which left him and several national players injured and off from the line-up in the PFL Cup.
The star midfielder also hopes for a good turnout when they face Singapore and Thailand in Panaad.
“I hope a lot of people are coming to the games. I hope they will support us like they do when we play with Ceres over there,” he added.
The Azkals will play Singapore on November 13 at home before flying to Kuala Lumpur to play against Timor Leste. They will return for the the home leg against Thailand on the 21st and will complete their assignment away to Indonesia on the 25th.*ceresfootball.com
