Fire destroys P2
million in properties

Fire razed three houses at Kenon Street in Barangay 7 Poblacion, Isabela town in Negros Occidental, causing about P2 million in damage, at about 12:15 a.m. yesterday.

Jeffrey Esclavia, Local Disaster Risk Reduction Management officer 2 of Isabela, said three houses of mixed occupancy were destroyed with no reported injuries or casualties.

The fire victims were identified as Jo-an Galang, Jaimelita Celestial, and Odelia Getalada, Esclavia said.

Faulty electrical wiring was initially seen as the cause of the fire, based on the investigation of the Bureau of Fire Protection, he said.

The fire that lasted for more than an hour was put out at about 1:20 a.m. yesterday.

Yesterday’s fire was the third residential fire in Isabela this year, Esclavia added.*
