The deployment of the fire truck lent by Sipalay City in Negros Occidental to Cauayan town will be extended for two weeks more, Fire Supt. Pamela Rojane Candido, Negros Occidental provincial fire marshal, said yesterday.
Sipalay Mayor Oscar Montilla had initially approved the one-month deployment of the Sipalay Fire Station fire truck to temporarily augment the Cauayan Fire Station while their fire truck is undergoing repairs.
Sipalay has four fire trucks.
Cauayan Mayor John Rey Tabujara sent another letter to Montilla on Tuesday, asking for an extension of the deployment of the Sipalay fire truck.
“Our local government unit has already purchased a new fire truck and we are anticipating its delivery within this month,” Tabujara said in his letter.
Candido thanked Montilla for approving the extension of the deployment of the fire truck in Cauayan.
The Cauayan LGU had financed the repair of the fire truck, worth P500,000. It is now due for painting and change oil, Candido said.
The Sipalay fire truck is augmenting the only serviceable fire truck of Cauayan.*
