Cop injured in
accidental firing of gun
BY SHIELA G. GELERA

A neophyte police officer, who is part of the augmentation troops for the MassKara Festival, was injured when he accidentally fired his gun at corner Rizal-Palanca streets in front of the Pope John Paul Tower in Barangay 12, Bacolod City, at about 4:25 p.m. Wednesday.

Police Officer 1 Larry Dago, assigned at the Task Unit Plaza, sustained a gunshot wound on his right leg and was rushed to the Dr. Pablo O. Torre Memorial Hospital, Chief Insp. Sherlock Gabana, Bacolod City Police Office public information officer, said yesterday.

Investigation showed that Dago was about to get his hat near his .45 caliber pistol, that had a chamber load, when it accidentally fired, hitting his right leg, Gabana said.

He said Dago is still recuperating at the hospital.*
