A 30-year-old doctor, who filed his certificate of candidacy Thursday for congressman of Bacolod City, said he is supporting the candidacy of re-electionists Mayor Evelio “Bing” Leonardia and Vice Mayor El Cid Familiaran.
Dr. Jan Kevin Moises of Brgy. Estefania, Bacolod City, said it has been his childhood dream to become congressman.
Both Bacolod Rep. Greg Gasataya and former mayor Monico Puentevella have been congressman of Bacolod City for a long time, he said.
“Let us introduce fresh blood to represent all of us,” Moises said.
His platform and flagship program is for the youth and healthcare. It is time that Bacolod has its own hospital, he said.
Moises said he has track record in leadership and management. He is a general practitioner and pursuing further studies in psychology and is also currently a professor of anatomy and ethics.
He said he will be running as an independent candidate.
Moises said he is a doctor of medicine and a graduate of Master of Arts in Nursing Major in Clinical Supervision. He is also a Doctor of Philosophy and Psychology, and a professor at the University of St. La Salle College of Medicine.
Bacolod Comelec Officer Mavil Majarucon-Sia said Moises cannot be considered a nuisance candidate because he has the capacity to campaign for himself.
She said Moises is the only candidate who has submitted his resume and platform of government to the Comelec although it is not mandatory.*
