A student from the Foundation Preparatory Academy emerged as the best from five participating schools for the Grand Law Oratorical Contest held recently at the Silliman University Claire Isabel McGill Luce Auditorium in Dumaguete City.
Andre Azcona, a grade 12 senior high school student of the Humanities and Social Sciences Strand, delivered his piece on the topic, “Should the Department of Education Adopt the Mandatory Drug Testing?” at the contest organized annually by the SU Oratorical and Debating Club.
Meanwhile, the FU Institute of Youth Sports for Peace held the first Grand Bootcamp de NegOr, in observance of Obesity Month, at the Perdices Coliseum in Dumaguete City recently.
The activity that aims to raise awareness on obesity, more specifically in children, consisted a two-hour physical activity, including high intensity interval training and zumba. The Grand Bootcamp de NegOr was a collaborative effort of IYSP, Department of Education, province of Negros Oriental, Department of Interior and Local Government, Negros Oriental Sports Confederation, Negros Oriental Sports Development Program, and the Fit and Play Gym and Fitness Center.*RG
