LGU pavilions top Panaad sales

The local government unit destination pavilions in the 26th Panaad sa Negros Festival at the Panaad Park and Stadium in Bacolod City remained as top grosser in the seven-day revelry.

As of 5 p.m. yesterday, total sales accumulated from the festivity reached P19.50 million.

The figure comprised the seven-day income from the LGU destination pavilions, eco-garden show, livestock and dairy fair, and food kiosks. Data from the sales of the organic market and food park on the last day were not yet available last night.

El Niņo task force formed in Bacolod

Bacolod Mayor Evelio Leonardia signed Executive Order No. 09 creating the Bacolod City El Niño Task Force on April 4, executive assistant Jose Maria Vargas, said.

Vargas, cluster head of the Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office, said the task force was created to mitigate the possible effects of the El Niño phenomenon and to make plans and recommendations to the mayor for whatever projects they may implement.

He said he will convene a meeting with the members of the task force this week, composed of representatives from the City Agriculture Office, Environment and Natural Resources Office, City Health Office, DRMMO, Bacolod City Water District, and Central Negros Electric Cooperative.
