Negros koi and goldfish show

The recently-concluded Negros Koi and Goldfish Show, held at The District, North Point Ayala Mall in Talisay City, was a huge success with almost 200 goldfish entries coming from Negros Occidental, Negros Oriental, Iloilo, Cebu, and Cagayan de Oro.

Twenty-eight registered vats with a total of 153 koi entries from different categories competed for the most coveted spot – the Grand Champion A and Grand Champion B.

Jake Bengoechea bagged the Grand Champion A while Norman Ojas was Grand Champion B with unanimous decision from judges Arvin Dakay from Cebu, William Dy from Iligan City, and Michael Go from Manila.

JC Cash Basis got the Best of Show award while Julie Ann Soteo has the Reserved Best of Show – a close fight for the best, most beautiful, almost perfect goldfish.

Despite the inclement weather, it was a weekend full of fun and learning for koi and goldfish enthusiasts as they got to showcase their hobby and shared best practices on koi and gold fish keeping.*
