2 gold medals, 1 silver for Bacoleņa
karateka in Hong Kong tournament

Filipino-Indian Ferlie Mae Lall of Bacolod City brought home two gold medals and a silver from the 1st Open Karate Championship 2019 held Sunday in Hong Kong.

The 16-year-old Lall, mentored by Sensei Randy Mengullo of the PSKI-Karate Fighting System, won the gold medal in individual kata black belt division after an impressive KankuSho performance in the final.

A graceful execution of Unsu during the semi-finals propelled her to the championship round.

LOPTTA holds clinic in Sum-ag

The Lopue’s Table Tennis Association, headed by Leonito “Diotay” Lopue, conducted a free clinic at Sum-ag National High School, Saturday.

Led by multi-awarded table tennis coach Marell Lagunday-Alvarez and Pastor-Coach Hosea Alvarez, LOPTTA players share their expertise with the Sum-ag students.

“The clinic focused on the basic fundamentals of sports and character development. We are doing this to tap and develop more table tennis in the grassroots, “ Lopue said.
