Sunkist, Cobra post
win in Fil-Sino caging

 

Sunkist defeated Summit, 74-71, while Cobra Citrus prevailed over Absolute ,95-90, in Class B of the Fil-Sino Asia Brewery Cup 2019 played Tuesday night at the Bacolod Tay Tung High School Po Hang Gym.

Sunkist was up, 34-29, at the half with RB Chua accounting for eight points while teammates Jomi MOntinola and Yan yan Muyco added six points each. Alvin Dionela and Carlo Chu combined for 14 points for Summit.

Ruel Bahian sizzled for 16 points in the 3rdquarter to lead the Summit offense but Sunkist continued to take the upperhand, 57-50, behind the inside presence of Henel Jison and Chua, who combined for 12 points.

Chu and Dionela conspired for 16 points in the payoff quarter to lead the Summit rally, but timely hits by Chua, who delivered nine points protected the Sunkist lead en route to victory.

Chua paced Sunkist with 22 points while Montinola shot 12, Jison dded 10 and Ralph Ong made 7 points.

Bahian led Summit with 19 points as Chu and Dionela finished with 15 points apiece.

In the nightcap, Cobra Citrus hold off Absolute in the fourth quarter to register its opening game victory.

Cobra Citrus was in cruise control for the first three quarters for a 73-53 lead behind DK Equipaje , Edgar Agana, and Carl Ginete.

In the fourth quarter, a searing rally from Absolute led by Brian Coo with 16 points and Sean Wee’s 8 markers were enough as Cobra Citrus managed to wiggle out of trouble for the win.

Edgar Agana shot 18 points and Emil Agana added 15 , for the winning team while Coo paced Absolute with 22 points.*
