Ceres FC players Shrock, Reichelt, Ott
proud of wearing PHL colors in Asian Cup

Ceres players Stephan Schröck, Patrick Reichelt, and Manny Ott, who started for the Philippines during the country’s debut at the Asian Cup against South Korea, are determined to get a good result from their remaining games against China PR today and Kyrgyz Republic on Jan. 16.

“We went out to show them how good we are. There’s a lot of potential in the Philippines,” midfielder Manny Ott said. “There’s a lot of good players in the team and we have nothing to lose. We definitely want to get a good result.”

“We never went here to the Asian Cup to just collect jerseys,” explained Reichelt. “We know what we came for and we will still fight for the next two games against China PR and Kyrgyz Republic. Our goal is to get results against these two teams. We know what we can do and we will see. All we can do is to work so hard and not have any regrets.”

Sports officials urged
to unite for 2019 SEAG

Stop bickering and start thinking of the gold medal in the 30th Southeast Asian Games (SEAG), which the country will host this year.

This was the advice of taekwondo Olympian Monsour del Rosario as he urged fellow sports officials and athletes to set aside their differences and work together to ensure the country’s success in the biennial competition scheduled in Manila, Subic and Clark on November 30 to December 11.

“The Filipino athletes are talented enough to be the best in Southeast Asia, but we still have a lot of work to do to win the gold medals,” the 1988 Seoul Olympics veteran told Manila reporters.
