12-hour power outage Saturday

There will a 12-hour power interruption in some parts of Negros Occidental on Saturday, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., Michelle Vicera, communication officer of the National Grid Corp. of the Philippines, said.

The areas covered by the Northern Negros Electric Cooperative, like the cities of San Carlos, Escalante, Cadiz, and Sagay, and the towns of Toboso, Manapla, and Calatrava, will be affected by the power outage, she said.

The NGCP will conduct maintenance activities on the Cadiz substation and the Bacolod-Cadiz 138-kilovolt power line.

ACPAPP sets seminar
on SEC updates

The Association of Certified Public Accountants in Public Practice (ACPAPP) Negros Occidental Chapter will organize a seminar on “Securities and Exchange Commission Updates”, at Business Inn in Bacolod City, today and tomorrow, a press release said.

The seminar aims to inform the corporate sector and practitioners with timely and relevant SEC updates. Topics to be discussed include the revised Corporation Code, revised General Information sheet, including beneficial ownership information, investments scams and investor protection, protection of non-profit organizations from money laundering, and terrorist financing abuse, among others.

Resource persons are lawyers Alfonso Lanuza Jr., Sheara Lupango-Tamayo, Sampaguita Ladrido, Kenneth Joy Quimio, and Miracle Anne Rodriguez, and Ryzpah Capicio, all from the SEC head office, who are also key persons in their respective departments, the press release said.
