Bacoleņo karateka wins in Busan


Young karatekas representing the Philippines won medals during the 31st Busan Mayor's Cup and 12th Korea Open International Karatedo Championship recently held in Busan, South Korea.

Thirteen-year-old Juan Miguel Sebastian Jadie from Bacolod City won the gold medal in Under 13 male individual kumite while 13-year-old Caizera Margaux Maraňon bagged the bronze medal in Under 13 female individual kata.

Both karatekas were members of the PKTS - Philippines delegation that competed in the tournament.

Other medalists for the Philippine team are Kyro Charlz Mayugba, Karl Corvin Mayugba, and Emanuel Jesus Sagun.

Kyro Mayugba captured the silver in cadet male individual kumite while Karl Mayugba was bronze medalist in 10-year-old individual kata and kumite. Sagun also won the bronze in senior male individual kata.*NAB
